MOONSIGHTING UPDATE
SHAWWAAL & EID-UL-FITR 1442 AH

The 29th of Ramadhan 1442 AH is Wednesday 12th May, 2021. Sighting should be done after sunset of this day.

The new moon crescent will be born on Tuesday 11th May, 2021 at 2:59 pm. Sunset on Wednesday 12th May, 2021 (in Trinidad) will be at 6:23 pm.

At sunset of this day the moon will be 27 hours 24 minutes old. Muslims are reminded to look for the crescent to commence the month of Shawwaal and Eid-ul-Fitr 1442 AH.

If the moon is SIGHTED, then Ramadhan will complete 29 days and the 1st night of Shawwaal will be the night of Wednesday 12th May, 2021, and the 1st day of Shawwaal / Eid-ul-Fitr 1442 AH will be on the day of Thursday 13th May, 2021.

If the moon is NOT SIGHTED, then Ramadhan will complete 30 days and the 1st night of Shawwaal will be the night of Thursday 13th May, 2021, and the 1st day of Shawwaal / Eid-ul-Fitr 1442 AH will be on the day of Friday 14th May, 2021.
